If you'd have asked me that about 30 years ago, I might have said, "Yes." I worked as a veterinary assistant back then, I saw a lot of surgeries and "cosmetic" surgeries (such as cutting off doberman pinscher ears - ear bleed a LOT!).
And one time, when the doc was removing an infected eye, he accidentally cut an optic artery and the poor dog bled to death over the course of the day... I spent my entire time there keeping pressure on that eye-socket, and the doc kept giving the dog coagulant, but he kept bleeding pretty steadily. Sad.
I've seen a lot of blood since then, but not in such large quantities so frequently.

yes the other day when i slices my finger off for the secord time i lost a pint and a half of blood. and when i had my bike wreck i lost a lot of blood as well.
