The best routes to take are to research the process of starting a business as well as the industry you're interested in.

I recommend checking out the SBA, Entrepreneur, The Start Up Journal & Nolo. All 4 are great informational resources for the new/small business owner. I posted links for you in the source box.

Associations may be a good avenue to explore. These organizations will address many of the thoughts, questions and concerns you'll inevitably have as well as many you haven't anticipated yet. See the source box for some relevant links.

Research, research, research – this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can about the industry. Here are some book titles that are relevant:

* How to Start a Home-Based Gift Basket Business, Third Edition by Shirley George Frazier
* Start Your Own Gift Basket Service by Entrepreneur Press
* Start and Run a Gift Basket Business by Mardi Foster-Walker

* Starting an Online Business For Dummies, 4th Edition by Greg Holden
* How to Start and Maintain A Successful Online Business by Kelly Thornton
* The Complete E-Commerce Book: Design, Build, and Maintain a Successful Web-Based Business by Janice Reynolds

There are plenty of free informational resources out there. Check the source box for links to articles.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

Wherever you go for the credit card system, you will need to do a credit check. Try setting up with paypal for a business account and to accept credit cards.

You can do your own website with yahoo small businessfor about $30 a month. (To sell online/Merchant account)

You can also do adsense with google and sponsored search with yahoo.

Try selling on ebay and craigslist as well.

You can spend any spare time doing marketing outside of the online world if you want to drum up some business.

Remember, sometimes its slow to start but give it some time and eventually all of the hard work will bring customers, even if they don't buy for 2-3 months.

Also, most of your customers will be referrals once you get going, so treat all of your customers as if they were your only one.

I sell things called eBooks for eBay which are electronic books that give you information that you are not going to find in some average website. It is information that is going to show you how to start and run a business.

I have a website that gives eBooks away for FREE!

Check them out.

I recommend selling things on Ebay first; if you really wish, a Yahoo store may be possible. You get the leverage of Yahoo's network this way.
