I think it came from
1. lack of competition- wcw bought wwe talent. wwe bought ecw talent. wwe bought wcw talent, etc. different creative teams trying different things.
2. wwf to wwe- it seemed around that time it really did go from wrestling to sports entertainment
3. Not pushing talent from other companies/the eventual leaving because of it.
Tazz. huge star. was ecw, they buried him. RVD, same thing. Booker, jericho, Benoit, guerrero WCW icons, wouldnt push them, when they did it was too late. Guerrero and Booker got eventual pushes but they couldve done some much more if it had been sooner. Benoit never got his chance, jericho left because of his treatment.
And that brings us to the big circle. The wwe stars are leaving or left for age,injuries,etc.
We lost Austin,Rock,Foley,Big show, soon HHH, HBK, taker & Kane will be gone.
Who would take over for the legends.
Benoit, Jericho, Christian, Angle, Rhino, RVD- people who still dont get a chance or got fed up and left for them to elevate the losers they have out there now.
so it's become a big sideshow with little to no actual wrestling ability

WWF becoming WWE was the first step into change. Then WCW and "The Monday Night Wars" coming to a hault. Lastly, several top card, very popular wrestlers were replaced with newer, younger guys with less experience. Although I still love wrestling and probably always will, I can still see that it's changed a lot over the years. But, change is inevitable. Hopefully '07 will bring some much needed possitive changes for WWE. *Fingers Crossed*

WCW and ECW both going out of business. The wwe no longer needed to be competitive, so they just did a lousy job of it all. The Goldberg coming back was just blown. They had all of the WCW job for a year.
