You need to be more specific. Someone could draft a document that said you were the King of the United States you could sign it and get it notarized but it means absolutely nothing. What is the document and what does it purport to do?

A notarized document, and its "importance", is mainly, the "acknowledgment of the signer", and does NOT have any legal standing or truth to is contents thereof, and therefore, is considered in legal terms "hearsay". The contents contained within, can and could be fought in a Court of Law. Additionally, the contents within these documents, is not under any type of an oath to truth, of it contents therein, except for the aforementioned and is easily debateable..

It isn't legal in any real sense. The notary simply attests that the signature on the document is yours. So, if you wrote out a completely illegal contract, you could still sign it and have it notarized, but all that it would prove is that you did actually sign it; it wouldn't make the contract legal.

It will stand up in court. If something is signed and stamped by a Notary Public it is a legal document, unless you can prove that it is a fake, or the Notary was being bribed.
