It seems that now days if you stand up for any kind of morality you are considered a biggot or a hick or just a mind numb puppet (and no I am not referring to Bush)

Mr. America, I said nothing about Liberal or Conservative. I said nothing about Bush or any other political party. Why don't you pull your lips of Michael Moore's A** and answer my question.

keep in mind that those who accuse you of this are practicing the same lack of ability to comprehend, closing their minds to your opinion, hence a double standard, and guilty of the same thing you are mentioning here. they are no less hicks, biggots or mind numb puppets than anyone else who is intolerant and self opinionated. you don't have to agree with others opinions, but you must respect their right to differ from yours.

'why don't you put your lips to Michael Moore's a** and answer my question'

Based on the quote above, and presuming that you uttered the quote with a condescending attidude, it is safe for logic to infer:
a) you are not a moral person
b) since you claim to be one earlier in your 'question' you are (by all laws of logic) a hypocrite
c) you aren't very intelligent or you wouldn't have contradicted yourself so obviously

My opinon: Stop typing. Just stop. You'd be surprised how much respect people have for silence.

True morality has nothing to do with telling other people what they should or should not do! True morality has nothing to do with telling other people how the should or should not live their lives, or what they should or should not do with their own bodies!
True morality has nothing to do with any kind of rules at all. True morality is about kindness, compassion, and sharing, and living your life as you want to, while allowing others to do the same! True morality is about each of us seeing the God in each of the rest of us, and allowing that we are all equally worthy in God's eyes. So, yes, when you regard morality as following certain rules, then people who disagree with your rules are going to see you as closed minded!!!

yes and no... to a degree...

I do think that many people who are closed minded, are those that consider themselves to be "moral people"...

the very fact that they consider themselves to be "moral," in some cases, is really them considering themselves to be better than other people, so they often seem to feel that they don't need to listen to anyone else, because their moral supremacy gives them the authority to decide right from wrong... without anyone else's opinion...

which could clearly be considered a closed minded attitude...

one doesn't lead directly to the other, so of course this doesn't go for all moral people or all closed minded people...

but I think morality and closed mindedness can often fuel each others fire... in my opinion

No, only those who try to make their particular morality the law of the land and enforce it on others.

I would guess that it is up to you to define morality. I really think morality is in the eyes of the beholder and sometimes people are to strict with it. Some it is not a matter of morality but rather a steadfast authority to be objectable.

Short-haired, what have you done to ensure that women get more paid leave time to take care of children? How many children have you adopted? What organizations have you volunteered for that help women and teach men how to become stay at home dads and be responsible for their offspring? What have you done to give kids REAL sex education, not abstinence edumacation? Until these social issues are addressed, women will keep having more and more abortions. If you want to reduce the amount of abortions, work on making sure women's rights are taken care of. Please tell me your credentials in these matters. Otherwise, you're just another control freak male.

And to Ethan, the question asker: I do what I want. Good luck controlling me. LOL

Yes, people of morality are looked down on by liberals. For example if you are pro life you are accused of being pro war and killing of innocent people. I am very grateful that there are those like yourself who are willing to bring up morality in a good way. Thanks.
