Ultimately the best job is what you interested in. It took me a while to realize that but I am happy with my job now.

I was a struggling single parent working 2 jobs trying to make ends meet 15 years ago. My son and I had previously been homeless when I saw an ad for a cook at a homeless shelter that was opening in our neighborhood. I applied and stayed with the company til last June. I started out cooking, went to counseling, then facility coordinator, then site supervisor and case manager. I loved my job, until I had a boss that I couldn't stand, then I left. I helped alot of people and that's satisfying.

Starting from age 5 - I knew that I hated taking commands from adults without any merit to their decisions and requests. I had teachers assigning me homework on useless subjects and my parents telling me to do something because it conformed to societal standards.

A job that allows me to escape those qualities is being a business owner. I have the freedom to set my hours, my core business, my employees, and it places me in charge to define what's needed and not needed to do for profit making.
