It's certain that there is other intelligent species out there. If not, that's a huge waste of space. There are theories out there that there is a government conspiracy covering up the existance of aliens. Personally, I don't know what to believe about the conspiracy. And, if the aliens are smart enough to get to us first, then they're tougher than us too. It's possible that they could wipe us out, but unlikely. They may not have even gotten here yet.

Humans only started broadcasting radio waves about 70 years ago. That means that none of the signals that we have generated have traveled more that 70 light years from the planet. That isn't very far in terms of the the universe. For any aliens to find us they would have use their "warp" drive spaceships to fly through the 70 light-year radius sphere surrounding Earth and be listening for a radio frequency signal. This seems rather unlikely considering all of the other space available for them to fly through.
Also, a very special set of circumstances came together to create the conditions that allowed intelligent life to evolve on this planet. There are as many stars in the universe as grains of sand on all of the beaches of the world so there are a lot of chances for these circumstances to come together again but I would bet that intelligent aliens are few and far between. I believe that it is highly unlikely that the Earth has ever been visited by aliens.

Within the last 100 years modern man has developed machines like planes, cars, space shuttles. What will man have in 10,000 years? We will be able to travel to other solar systems. At the current time, we are operating on basic physics. Which in time will be proven irrelavent.
Picture another civilzation that is 1,000 000 years ahead of us. Chances are good that they will be peaceful. Whats the point of flying half way around the world to kill some ants on a hill?
The government knows alot about the subject but we'll never hear about it.

I personally have no doubt in my mind that somewhere in the vast expanse of the universe other intelligent forms of life exsist. Whether or not they have actually visited earth and tried to make contact with the human race is questionable. If you were an alien, would you actually want to come down and offer a hand of friendship? When the human race finds it most difficult to get along with each other in peace, all the wars, violence and percicution would be enough to put anyone or anything from willingly wanting to visit earth.

Yes , there is some evidence but some people don't believe it. It's just, the universe is so...BIG.... we cant be the only living things in our universe, can we?
