is it possible or has it been done already? and if we do invent a time machine, wouldn't it disrupt space-time continuum and thus resulting to chaos and altering the events in the future? what good will it do?

but then we will be interfering with the flow of time and the flow of life. what's done is done. it shouldn't be changed. and isn't that being selfish?

it has not been done and never can be done.
it was by einstein proven to be mathematically possible,
BUT, it was proven right by the wrong methods.

he appears to think traveling time has something to do with excessive speed. this is incorrect due to the fact that the formula for time is time = present past future.
he thought he could be smart by algebraically rearranging the speed formula.

distance / time = speed

but what is wrong with that is that in the speed formula we do not calculate all of time so we do not change all of time, we only calculate the passing of time so we can only change the passing of time. these traveling time ideas are useless and cannot be done. rather this is the effects of energy upon objects, or the lack of energy upon objects that gives the impression of aging more or less.

and to further prove it is not possible, consider this, atoms would need a memory on where they were previously in order for them to go back to where they were in the past. however atoms do not keep record of where they were or where they are going, they go where they are pushed or shoved.

an example, say you have a candle in a 1 foot by 1 foot by 1 foot box. light the candle, it melts and reforms itself. now put the box in space where there is no air resistance, and somehow propel it to the speed of light and beyond or whatever speed is necessary. it really dosnt matter what speed you go the physics is that the candle is not going to unmelt itself and go back to the way it was. whats done is done and there is no changing time.

also since speed is considered so necessary, just think about what speed really is. it is how much distance can be achieved in a certain amount of time. that means there is two things involved. distance, and time. now, if speed could somehow change time, time would change speed right back to satisfy the equation. this is the most difficult idea to understand but i thought i would include it because you seem to like to think about these cool ideas.

and also something to consider is that time travel creates paradoxes. no one can deny that. but if you know what a paradox is then you know already that time travel is not possible. an example i found on google is that a paradox is "'I always lie' is a paradox because if it is true it must be false" which is a statement that contradicts itself. now there is no problem with the answer to this, there is a problem with the question!! and think about it, the above statement is false, just like time travel, because it creates a paradox. problem solved.

additional details:
also i thought i would include this: if someone were to make a time machine and try to time travel backwards, they would uninvent it by going backwards through time. simple really....

God reserves to Himself the ability to know the future. Thus, God will not permit a time machine.
Therefore, the physics of this universe dictate that travel backwards or forwards in time is not possible. While some variables exist in time, to take advantage of them you would need to either travel at the speed of light (impossible) or use humongous amounts of gravitational energy (which would kill you and the destroy the machine you built.)

most of the earliest approaches for fictional time commute did no longer contain a working laptop or pc; the numerous character in Washington Irving's "Rip van Winkle" (1819) certainly fell asleep for a protracted time. King Arthur's daughter Gweneth slept for 500 years below Merlin's spell,at present, all of us understand that component commute choose no longer be constrained to myths, technological awareness fiction, Hollywood videos, or maybe hypothesis with tips from skill of theoretical physicists. Time journey is potential. working example, an merchandise vacationing at severe speeds a protracted time greater effective slowly than a table sure merchandise. because of this in case you were to journey into outer area and return, shifting very practically mild speed, you may journey 1000's of years into the Earth's destiny.

I answer this question at least once a day. Time travel was reveled as a practical possibility when Einstein presented his theory of special relativity in 1905. Basically, the faster you travel, the slower your clocks appear to an outside observer. This phenomena is called time dilation. Any craft with a high enough speed thus becomes a time machine. People in the craft upon return, have not experienced as much passed time as those outside the craft, and appear to have "traveled in time"

Travel to the past is theoretically possible, but requires you to travel faster than light. This is not yet achievable

It would kind of work.... By the time your finished building a time machine, it will be the future : ) But seriously, anything is possible, it's just the probability of it happening.

Actually, I invented one 30 years from now. I'll let you know the full ramifications of it 20 years ago.

Time travel to the past is impossble, however, there are several methods you can use to "jump" to the future. The ones that are fesiable with todays technology are not safe yet, and other, theorical methods are beyond todays technology.

If you invented a time machine to-day it would spring up instantly in every era of time the joint would be flooded with them!

nope but it would be neat but if you change one small thing from the past it could have a lot of big inpact on something today

it might be possible if you get stuck in a black hole you will probabily stay the same age but you'll be in the future
