Easily. You can't think about the food and even if it is really good it still isn't good anymore.
It makes me furious usually.

Yes. For me, dining out is an experience, not just the meal. I want service, atmosphere, the total package. I'm PAYING for it!
I hate to go to a Mexican restaurant and hear rock music, or a Sixties Diner and hear heavy metal instead of the old classics from that era. The music should fit the type of restaurant, IMO.
Bad service can ruin the experience.
Two things that bother me the most are when someone grabs my husband's plate without asking, then I'm sitting there eating and he doesn't even have a plate. I'm a slow eater, and I then am left eating alone! I hate that!
Also, I hate it when a server interrupts our conversation twenty times a minute to ask if everything is okay. I don't want to be rude and say, "If you'd stop interrupting, it would be," but sometimes they leave me no choice.
I wind up telling them, "If you see me searching around, then we need something. If we're deep in conversation, please don't interrupt!"

Having been in the business for years, no. Everyone has bad days and screws up. Bad food on the other hand is what could ruin my meal.

Yes, it completely ruins it. I refuse to go back to a resturant after receving poor service at least until some time has passed and I know the rude person isn't there anymore. If your gonna be rude, get a different job, ya know, like president or something.

sometimes, because if the food is cold or the waiter is slow it ruins not just your meal but your day. another thing is when the food isn't made right that delays the rest of your day too, along with the meal. if the things happen to you all you're going to do is gripe and complain the rest of the time in the resturant.

Of course!
Especially since I always like to pick on negative bits. If I was superbly annoyed at the service, I am capable of creating a ruckus :)
It's bad but I was previously in the F&B industry and I pay for my food, so what the heck.

Yes. For me the whole experience is dependent on the food, the service and the ambiance. If one of those is bad, it's ruined for me.

Yes. A good meal has a lot to do with timing, and a good restaurant won't let you wonder what to expect, or when to expect it.

Not if the food is really good. I try to remember that sometimes employees have a bad day, or there may be a new person on the grill.
