I might get my dad's old car when I turn sixteen, but he chose a really ugly car. I wanted to repaint it silver (I've seen the same car in silver and it is gorgeous!). Does anyone know how much it costs? Do I have to get it done at the dealer or are there different places that can do it? etc... Thank you!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah, young grass hoppa, no need to take it to a dealer at all. What may cost you is body work. On a paint job don't be cheap,is the best i can tell you. Sure you can get some body to spray it for 600 but do you think it will last? A good paint job should last at least 10 years or more. Do you think little john paid 600 to have his hummer painted by a dude in his garage? no,we have been working on a car for 6 months now and we have done the inside and out all jambs everything! and it's costing her 8 grand. And that's cause we know her!

it would be best to take it to a body shop,or better yet, find someone who paints cars and have them to do it.it also depends if you got body work to get done first, and are you furnishing the stuff,or are they going to get the stuff?if you get a small time painter, then they might do it cheaper then the garage.

There is a company called Earl Scheib that used to do it for 99.95!!! I think Maaco runs specials periodically for like 199.95, give them a call.

good luck!!
