Choose someone from your own country, of your own sex, someone who might inspire you and others. If you are British, then Edith Cavell, or Emily Pankhurst come to mind as possible subjects, or possibly Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon (the queen mother).

For your project, you could list different kinds of historical figures that seem interesting. i.e. World leaders, explorers, past presidents etc. And then pick the group you like best. once you've done that, keep narrowing the list down until you have one person to do the project on.

Leonardo Da Vinci, Gallileo, Lenin, Francisco Coronado ( his never ending quest for the fountain of youth), Alexander Dummas, Henry III ( what a selfish, self centered, jealous, careless, routhless man. Gotta be honest, those women had it comin, after the first execution you would think they would learn, I suppose being queen is worth the risk.), Socrates. There is alot to work with, good luck.

My first pick would be a woman who was a Milwaukee, Wisconsin school teacher and took her family into Israel to help her own people out of horrifying terror, she became the first Israeli woman primeminister. That was very brave and good. I sit in awe of anyone who would give up their cushy homes in peace to go into the lions den and risk all for freedom, and yet she worked herself to death she is honored. Go to www.history.com
A bit of info, she sat there in Israel when America refused to help her by sending weaponry to save the children and all, just to defend themselves, and Israel would pay the money. But she and Moshe Dian etc., beat 21 countries in 6 days. she only called after their religious temple was bombed and killing all those little children and God fearing people, and that lying Quaker Nixon turned her down. That was okay though they won anyway.

Hitler. You cannot swing a cat without finding material on ole' Adolf. Doing a project on him is like shooting jews..err fish in a barrel. In any case every library and books store has countless books, articles, newpaper reports on this man. They all have tons of photogprahs from which you can draw ideas. You can't lose.
