Suppose, if we want to be a singer and tried to get into one of the record label (Sony Music, Capital Record, etc.) do we have to audition? Or there is something else that we have to do. If there is an audition how could we find that out?

First, you have to write songs, perform them, build a fan base, record demos, preferably a self funded album- you have to show the record company that you are a dedicated, driven artist who is already a success - they won't even look at you unless you're already an accomplished artist.

When you're ready to approach a record label, you need a Press Kit. You can look this up on Goolge, but basically its a portfolio containing a cover letter, a photo, positive album/show reviews, a list of high profile shows you have performed, a lyric sheet, and of course your demo!

You get invited to audition after you have made a Demo in a good studio and sent it in, then they will want to know where you gigs are then they come, and dont tell you then they inviter you to play for them then they offer you a crappy deal where all they pay you is 17% of profits they retain the rights to your songs and band name they spend as much on production and marketing as they like and you have to pay it back out of your 17%. I hope this is enough information.

look in the back of any CD and the address of their record label is on the back and just send them a demo!

Yeah. Try looking on the back of a cd for the record label company. If you sing, I'll vote for you when I see you on american idol!!!!!!!!!!

You need a sound track if you're a singer, a CD if you're a band. They will want to meet you of course before signing you up.
