hypothesizing and predicting are the same thing, hypothesizing is just slightly more formal. a hypothesis is a statement which predicts the outcome of an experiment. an experiment tests the hypothesis.

Well, each is a part of the scientific method.

A hypothesis is a proposed relationship between observable states or events. For example we might hypothesize that fire requires oxygen. Experiments are done either to gather data from which a hypothesis can be made or to test a hypothesis. In the example we could introduce a burning candle into containers filled with air, with carbon dioxide, etc. and see what happens. Predictions are made when a hypothesis (or a theory, a more fully tested version) is used to say in advance what will happen in a given circumstance. That circumstance can then be observed to further test the hypotheis or theory.
