Lundquist is much better because of his higher save percentage overall. He has also had much more experience when he played in Europe. Adding to the fact that DiPietro is signed to a 15 year contract Lunquist will be a much better asset himself than DiPietro.

Overall I'd say they're pretty even as of right now. This year will separate them, I think.
As far as stats this year, it seems that DiPietro has it. 2.71 GAA and .915 save percentage for DP versus 2.96 and .898 for Lundqvist. Not a huge difference but a difference nonetheless.
I'm an Islander fan and in the games that I've watched, DiPietro has had a significant impact on many games this year. He's much more consistent then ever before and also makes big saves when he needs to. He's done really well in shootouts also.
So while I still say the the two are even now, this year could see DiPietro rise above Lundqvist.

obviously ranger fans would go with Henrik and isles fans would say DP....but to really answer this question, i think you really have to know each man
