Does anyone know why they closed all the Taco Bell's in Australia?

food poisoning...they think it was tainted lettuce or something so they are closed while they sort it out

As of December 8, 2006, the company is in the middle of an ongoing investigation by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration due to E. coli food poisoning in various stores. The franchise has stated its opinion that green onions, also known as scallions, are the source of the problem. Taco Bell disposed of all its green onions until further notice. An external review later (December 14, 2006) came to the conclusion that shredded lettuce is the likely source of the problem. [2]
"Company President Greg Creed appeared in a television commercial during the week of December 18, 2006, reporting that the FDA has given the "all clear" to Taco Bell, and assuring the public that the health and safety of the customer is top priority."

Kind of Intriguing; Taco Bell does so well here. May be the customer base was just not there in Aus

maybe it has something to do with the tainted food? I know I will

they wanted you to move to minnesota we have over probably 10,ooo in the whole state
