You definitely want this to be a "low-risk" activity for the parents, so avoid anything that involves too much sharing. Perhaps a version of People Bingo? In this game, there is a Bingo box, and people need to find someone who has done something or has a certain ability. Tailor the attributes to your audience. Examples: find someone who can bake bread, someone who knows how to ride a motorcycle, someone who coaches a sport, etc. Try to get items that will start conversations...if all goes well, they might even forget the actual Bingo board and get to talking with one another.

Here's one I participated in and it was pretty fun. Everyone pairs off and has a minute or two to find out some interesting stuff about his/her partner. When the group reconvenes, you introduce your partner to the group.
