Small claims court made a default judgement and said it is my job to get the banking information of the plaintiff. How is that possible?

Yes this is a valid question and paying a lawyer is not an option.

That's ridiculous! If this is a true, valid question, the only thing that I can think of is to take your copy of the judgment to that persons banking institution and tell them your problem...

Jeffery F is the best answer I see so far. You need an attorney to follow up on the judgment. That said, has the person ever paid you by check? If so, and you deposited the check in your bank, try asking is your bank can pull an image of the check from their files. I don't know if this is legal, but I do know the image does exist in the files of every bank involved in clearing the check.

Thats funny. Without breaking any laws? Impossible. Only the government can do that, and they better have a good reason for doing it. You could always ask nicely or trick them into giving it to you. What you should have done was get the information before hand. You could always get a job at the bank and steal the information, just dont get caught.

Hand the judgement over to a debt collection agency. They'll charge you a percentage, but will persue this person to the grave to get the money.

The judgement is the first step. Judgement does not equal payment
You need to contact an attorney to help you follow due process.....you must follow certain steps of collection.

illegal don't even try it.....only in the movies....you will go to jail....
