BJ and My Best Friend Bear. I think it was on TV during the '70s or '80s. I really enjoyed it, but noone else I've asked has ever heard of it.

BJ was played by Greg Evigan and he was a truck driver with his best friend Bear, who was actually a monkey. Stupid 70's tv at its best. And it was called "BJ and the Bear"

First off, you'd have to be at least 30 to remember it. Second, 8 out of 10 of the people on Yahoo answers aren't old enough to even have drivers' licenses so you're barking up the wrong tree.
I do remember it (barely) but just the theme song. I am in my mid- twenties so it was off the air by the time I was old enough to know what was going on.
