He wasn't ill enough to see the doctor, so now we have to come up with a return to work note. Are we goin to have to schedule a routine office visit just to obtain a note or can you suggest another alternative?

sounds ridiculous to me...
I thought the norm was after three days you need a doctor's note to prove illness, but one day? Sounds like an awful place to work. Your spouse should visit a walk in clinic if he can't get to see your doctor right away, and explain the situation. I think the doctor would comply, if they are a decent person.

What is this, elementary school that he needs a note? I'd tell the employer you aren't spending the $75 to get a note for something that didn't require medical attention.

Next, I'd tell your hubby to look for another job, this one has stinky policies and treats employees like children. How sad.

Yes, things like this are ridiculous. People can be ill, but not sick enough to go to a doctor. I mean... who even goes to a doctor if they are just sick for one day?

If your doctor is friendly and such it shouldn't be too hard to explain your situation. Maybe if you just call your doctors office and ask to talk to your doctor. I'm sure he wouldn't mind, and he or she may have heard this many times before.

There are alot of jobs that are doing this and it has been going on since I was working. If you don`t bring in a medical excuse you can be fired...and jobs aren`t that easy to find anymore especially good paying jobs...so take heed!!

If you regularly go to a doc he may just write you one if you nicely explain to his staff your situation. However, you'll have to schedule an appointment otherwise.
