There are free anti--virus programs that will protect your computer and protect others. Try www.avast.com .
Even though you may not want to put the software on your computer, you should put an antivirus program on there to protect others from viruses...

You can still get a virus. If you download any attachments you are succeptable to them. If you view web pages with any active content, etc.
You might want to have one to be safe. Grisoft has a free one, AVG it's pretty good. If you see one that charges, keep looking there's a free version works good.
