I just graduated from nursing school, and I studied by typing all of my notes. I would work for 50 minutes out of the hour, break for 10 minutes, and then go back for 50 more. Typing them goes faster than writing them out (for me at least), and then I had all my notes in one place. If I had references in my notes to pages and charts, I made copies of the pertinent information, and then attached them in the right places in my notes, so I didn't have to carry my book everywhere - I could just take my notes. I also studied just about everywhere - I took my notes to the bathroom with me, standing in line at the grocery store, sitting at stoplights, during commercials in TV shows, while at the movies before the show started. You'd be amazed how much you can learn in just a few minutes multiple times a day.

If you're zoning out while reading textbooks, then try writing notes as you read. That will force you to actually pay attention.
Also, the more ways you can learn material the better. So, read it out loud to yourself, record yourself and play it back, put things into your own words, make up catchy jingles to remember things, etc. Another great way is to find a study partner and actually teach the material to each other. It's a great way to learn the material and avoid getting bored and daydreaming. Take lots of breaks. You can study less over a long period (like one week) and retain material better than cramming more at the last minute.

Well there are lots of fun easy ways to study. Like use flash cards, have a friend test you, or you can right on a sticky note and put it up somewhere you like everyday(entrenance to use). Studying just requires you to sit, and memorize the material teachers give you.

Think about what you will accomplish by studying: good grades, sense of accomplishment, the satisfaction of knowing more, the recognition you get from others for mastering the subject, and most importantly, the feeling that when you set yourself to do something, you can and will accomplish it.

If you day dream alot, or for those who can't retain what they read, I found it helpful to read my important/key notes into a tape recorder and then play that thing over and over in my headset til it was stuck like glue.
Also, getting away from others and noise is helpful for me.

depends on your personality. are you one of those people than study better in silence or with certain types of music? do you like studying independently or with other people? try experimenting and see what suits you. wish you luck! :D
