My son has Down syndrome. He is 2 1/2 and he is simply a wonderful little boy. He laughs and cries and smiles and throws tempter tantrums like any other child. Do I laugh at him? Yes, I do...he frequently does things that make me laugh. But I don't laugh at him because he has Down syndrome or because he may struggle with some things. I laugh when he blows raspberries at me, I laugh when he hears the phone rings and hollers out "PHONE" and I laugh when he shows me his precious face then says "Cute!".
Laughing at someone because they may be different from you is cruel and wrong. And NO, I don't do that. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Is it really that funny?
I am a mother of a new baby girl that has DS, Would it be funny if you had a ds child?
You are very ignorant. This is why people like me are afraid to take our new babies out into the world. So what if our babies look different maybe even act different, they are human! Simple genetic mishap nothing could have been prevented and this is what we get in return? people laughing at our children because they are born different.
I have read every DS question asked on this board and I cant believe some of the things I have read.
I would rather have a DS child that is perfect in my eyes than some child that bullies and makes fun of others.
I have been dealing with the for the past 5 months and with every good week there is always one person who ruins atleast one of my good days with my child because you think its funny.
OP you are horrible

NO, I have a son with Down Syndrome and he is the absolute sunshine in my life. He plays the drums and is a gold medal winning Special Olympian.
Chris Burke has a band, he's acted in "Life Goes On" and did some guest appearances on "Touched By An Angel"
What have you done with your life??????

No I don't, but I do laugh at my son when he does something cute like dancing when his favorite music comes on the radio. or when he smiles at me after he climbs up on the counter to give our dogs cookies even though he knows he is naughty.
People with DS have taken the brunt of other peoples jokes for so long because of their own insecurities and it is truly sad. my son is not judgmental of others, but rather willing to give his friendship and love to all...it is too bad so many people will not accept that friendship because they deem him retarded and different from themselves...but it is their loss.

There's a big difference between laughing AT someone and laughing WITH someone who wants you to laugh because they're being funny.
I think it's wonderful that this young man had a chance at a career like that.

Do you laugh at people with cerebral palsy? I don't laugh at anyones disabilities for any reason. I'm not watching the video, maybe it's him being silly~people with down syndrome do have personalities so maybe he was being funny, to get a laugh. but I would never laugh at his disability :)
