My barber today said that anyone who wears their pants hanging down should be sent to fight the war in Iraq (and he meant African Americans)....After my haircut, I felt bad for not arguing with him....that's crazy...he was hiding his racisim behind a fashion....And, I think your question is racist by saying "white people only". People are racist to one degree or another.

Why should this question only address white people isn't that racist? As if their answer will differ from anyone elses?
People are racist for personal reasons. If we didn't see the world through personal(prior) experience and just saw it for what it was we wouldn't have this problem.
You want to go higher on the ladder we are humans lower we are individuals it's just categories nothing much else to it besides very minor chemistry and physical differences based on geological location.
We sympathize with what we know and are familiar with. If it be color or symbolism. If you are introduced into seeing people as individuals than you can defeat the human sub conscious of judging based on primal factors.
Being born ignorant to the ideals of racism by nature doesn't justify it's existence in the comprehensible to the ideals of racism. I in present tense am not ignorant nor racist. Anyone that is a racist and comprehensible of it's ideals is an idiot.

I believe people are prejudice for a lot of reasons and it doesn't always have to be about color. I believe there are people prejudice against fat people, bald people, disabled people, mentally challenged people, short people, etc. But you asked about racism. People are scared of what they don't understand and that translates into racism. I was brought up in a home where we never spoke a racist word. And yet when our school was integrated and we had to share the playground equipment with the black children, we didn't see them as being just children. We saw them as being different from us and that was a bad thing. And no adult taught us that. To explain how ridiculous it is to be racist, you should watch an episode of Star Trek (many years old), where there were these 2 guys fighting. They both had a half black and half white face. On one the black was on the right side of his face and on the other guy, the black was on the left side. Their different races had fought for years and these were the only two people from their races that were left. It made you stop and think just how stupid it is to have racism.

Yes.
1.Superiority.
2.Discrimination.
3.Bias.
The 3 definitions of racisim, as I know them.
I'm white and personally don't know whites who feel superior to people of color. They're out there to be sure.
I do know whites who avoid people of color for cultural and political reasons. Discrimination and bias would better describe them.
It's a big world...folks move away from each other to avoid cultural clash. I live in a neighborhood that's 70/30 white/black. We all get along, smile, say hello, kids play together, but I truly can't say I'm friends with a person of color.
You already know all of this, yes?
It's hard to understand others; blacks think they understand whites and the other way 'round - such as this, such as your question, are preconceived notions. Nothing gained; nothing learned; nothing changed.
May G-d bless our people, all American people.
Best wishes,
pup

Sure, I know racists. It's pretty sad. I wish people could just hate eachother on an individual basis for valid reasons.

if you dig really really deep, there is no justifiable reason to be racist. you cant hate a color or culture all the way. and by the way, not only white people are racist either. you need a reality check. and i am white.

"if you dig really really deep, there is no justifiable reason to be racist."
Nature gave you the ability to discriminate so you wouldn't squat and try to breed with an orangutan.
To try to argue that simple fact sorta proves Nature's point, don't you think?
Of course we're all racist. If we weren't, we would have died off a million years ago. Anyone that denies they are is either an idiot or a liar....and that's everyone, not just the whites.
