doing things for yourself!!
in college you have to be responsible for everything: taking the right classes, making sure you have the money to take classes, managing your time, knowing your student rights, etc.
i have a friend that has completed all graduation requirements but cannot graduate because she missed the deadline to submit one form. according to the school, you have to tell them that you plan on graduating!
overall, if you are a responsible person that can keep up with finding out deadlines, filling out a million forms, standing on long lines, etc. college is going to be a wonderful experience!
i really love college but it is not for everyone.

It is very expensive and most people want to be there.
Most of them are focused on learning something.
Most are NOT into that high school click drama and other gossip nonsense. Not as many teeny bopper types .
Actually high school is kiddie world and college is nearly adult. Two totally different worlds.

Lack of structure. Before you'd get up and go to school 8-3 and now you are taking class at all sorts of times... the changing structure of the days is what threw me for a loop.

You don't have to go to college. It's a choice. So don't go to class and sleep. What would be the point?

There's alot more freedom. You can pick your own courses, course times, and nobody will be pressuring you to go to class or do work. Which is why it is so important to be organized and on track.
