Bush is withdrawing troops from Afghanistan while increasing troops in Iraq.

Is this a good idea, given that Afghanistan is where Al Qaeda and the Taliban are based?

Horrible idea, but are any of his ideas/policies intelligent? First of all, for the guy whose answer I saw first, who bought into the administration's attempt at giving us false information, the number of Al-Qaeda in Iraq isn't even comparable to the number in Afghanistan. Saddham Hussein declared war against the Al-Qaeda almost years ago. So there is that myth debunked. The only reason Bush sent troops to Iraq was to keep the military business booming. It is why we have at least one war or invasion with each president. This way they can try out their toys, and have reasons for buying new ones. Of course this would occur when the Vice President is a former owner of Halliburton, an oil and armory company, and a branch off of Halliburton, KBR, which specializes in aeronautic weapons. We should have never been in Iraq. Now there are nearly 23,000 men women and children, mainly civilians, dead over this. We are NEVER going to leave, because we will station troops in Iraq, as we do in every country, in order to trade and sell with them, to make more money. Capital is the reason for everything. Money rules all, hence corporations rule the government. To fully answer the question, we should have more troops in Afghanistan, than in Iraq. Also, for those that don't know, out of the first 50 attacks on Iraq, NOT ONE HIT IT'S TARGET. I repeat, NOT ONE!!!

Withdrawing from afghanistan is not a good idea. If he sends troops out whose sending more in? NATO isnt all its members dont want to. NAto should send more troops are Russia should get involved as well i think to help the americans as they are as allies now.
I think that if Bush withdraws from Iraq he should send 20,000 troops to Afghanistan . And the taliban and al qaeda are not based in afghanistan but in the border with Pakistan.

No its not a good idea. Just like it wasnt a good idea to wait around for weeks and weeks before invading Afghanistan.
What do they care though they got their pipeline.
I mean really do you think Bush cares that Afghanistan has fallen back to Taliban rule?
Why isnt he prancing around Afghanistan in a flight suit, cod piece and mission accomplished banner? Too bad he isnt more concerned with all the heroin flowing out of Afghanistan, I mean the US is still in a "war on drugs" right?

No. The Taliban are gearing up for a major offensive and the marines in charge are telling the White House this. And never mind the fact that the Taliban now control 1/3 of the country again....

And to Libkillah: Grow a brain. AQ didn't have a real foothold in Iraq until AFTER we invaded.

Al Qaeda is a fictional organization that we made up. Sorry, the war lords are taking good care of the poppy production in Afghanistan, for the C.I.A., and Iraq is where the oil, and Halliburton are located.

Who knows Bush has no creditability on any issue. Bush has also made himself insignificant on every issue.
