Ok, since I've gotten responses rather quickly, let me add some detail to the situation. Even though we live very far apart (8 hours by plane), we have been together for a whole year. Things go very smoothly at first, distance of course, makes it difficult, but we manage with what we got. I visit him, he visits me. Longest we've been apart is 3 months. We talk on the phone every single day. During Thanksgiving, he traveled to my place, spent holiday with me and my family. Last day before he leaves he says: I am sorry, I know how you feel about me, but you could never be my girlfriend. A whole month goes by, I called him...no answer, texted him...no answer, emailed him...no answer. So I gave up trying. I left him a mesage telling him that I wished him the best with all my heart, but if this is what he wants, then I'll move aside and let him be free to live his life. Now, he starts calling me (I'm not answering) asking how I am doing, if I am ok, saying take care and talk to you soon.

Answer find out what he wants. Never laugh or mock. Remember you were friends at one stage. Communication is a great key to understanding and mending broken bridges. Maybe he is worried about you and wants to see how you are doing. Remember 90% of breakups happen because of miss communication in the beginning stages of a relationship. Talk to each other openly and ask those questions that you wanted when you were still together.

Ask him what he expects by talking to you. Say something like "I know that it may be akward to talk abou this but you broke up with me, so why are you still calling me? Everytime you call I get happy and my heart starts to beat faster b/c I haven't gotten over you yet and if we're not together anymore, then how about you tell me what you want from me? Do you want to be friends, or can have you not gotten over us either? If this is the case, then why exactly did you leave me? Are you playing with me, b/c if you are, this is one game that I'm not willing to play b/c my feelings are involved here. BUT if you seriously want to play, then get ready buddy, you're about to lose and once you do, you'll have to eat dirt!!!"

Stop taking his calls. Simple. Use called ID or an answering machine to screen your calls. If he calls at ridiculous hours of the night or a million times in a row, get a restraining order against him for stalking.

If you've tried telling him not to call, ignore his call or change your number unless you just like the attention. He sounds like he's not really sure if he made the right decision. You shouldn't let him still reach out and touch you when he want to he made his choice let him live with it. Don't be available to him. Let him see what he gave up.

Depends on if the break up was mutual! We all have broken up with someone just realize that maybe we were wrong. I believe everyone deserves a second chance unless he was dipping his wick in the wrong wax! Answer?
