He just wanted it to be a mystery. He died recently and I don't think that they even printed a picture of him then.

I believe before they went to production, they initially wanted Wilson to be projected in a hologram, with a hood and raspy voice.
In the first proposed episode, they wanted Wilson to give Tim the schematics to make a double edged light saber. As soon as he has completed it (and properly for a change), he has now converted to fulfill his destiny. He takes everyone out, starting with Al and the broad.
But then they thought that this concept had been done before and changed it to the fence.

the man who played wilson said that he didn't want to show his face so that he could go out in public and be a normal human being around every other normal human being without fear of being recognized.

It was just the hook to keep you watching in hopes that they would eventually show his face or to see what way they would hide it each show...
Earl Hindman was on the soap Ryan's Hope and wasn't so hidden.

It's just one of those things that makes the viewer wanna keep watching hoping that one day he will expose his face.. Actually if you watch them, you will eventually see what his whole face looks like..

per chance he has mouth maximum cancers, like those on our cigarette packets.- yet likely more suitable to do with catching the audiences interest, we always favor what we cant have.- no longer that i favor wilsons mouth, that sounds ill.
