Sure. Any kind of clothing can be comfortable. The one I get the most funny looks over are my corsets, though. A lot of people think they went out of style for a reason- but they're very comfrotable on a ahem, well endowed woman. As for the baggy pants or flowy skirts, sure, they're very comfortable, You hardly know you're wearing them.
As for your question regarding periods- why would you suppose one's clothing has any bearing? Isn't it a GOOD thing to be wearing something loose when you're a bit puffy round the middle? and you don't put the hygiene product (if you use pads)directly on your pants, now do you? So there's no conflict there.

I suppose it would depend on what makes clothing "comfortable" to you. Some people would say jeans and t-shirts are the height of comfort, but I can't wear jeans because I find them too restricting in leg movement. (Well, it's not like I'm doing back handsprings in my goth clothes, but long skirts are so much more comfortable...better for your cooch, too--less sweat means less yeast infections, if you'd like to know.)
I'm also incredibly cold-natured, so black, heavy clothing is usually fine. During summer (and I live in Texas) I have a few cotton or gauzy dresses which are nice. I also will go more casual with a sleeveless top, a pair of capris, and sandals (all in black, of course).
Now, would you please clarify what the hell you're talking about with "periods"? How could gothic clothing influence whether or not your tampon leaks? This does not make any sense at all.

I'm not sure what you consider to be goth clothing, but much of it is very comfortable. Romanti-goths wear long flowing skirts and dresses, which are very comfortable. Goths aren't going to wear anything uncomfortable on a regular basis, although everyone does try and look their best when they go out to a club or concerts, so than the clothes can be a bit difficult.

LOL I like this question
Ok well no gothic clothes and and other clothing isn't always uncomfortable. Remember that gothic clothing isn't just the morbidish look... spikes, baggy black pants, chains, and over the top makeup or whatever stereotypical outlook people have for goths.
no, the look can be more sophisticated, too. Like what people mentioned, corsets, capes, dresses, skirts, boots. Ok I understand the piercings you may see on certain people.
I don't think they think its uncomfortable since they are wearing it. And for the makeup well it maybe sorta stressful to apply.
Preppy clothing seems uncomfortable to wear too. The skirts, thongs, revealing attires.BUT NOT all preps wear that either. Its just a bright look thats girlie usually.
it depends on what you see

I once ordered a pair of jeans online (I do wear jeans sometimes) and failed to notice that I was ordering "ultra low rise." When they arrived in the mail and I tried them on, I was shocked to find that if I moved even slightly, my butt crack was exposed for all the world to see. I understood two things then. One - I finally realized why I see girls' thongs hanging out of their jeans all the time. Two - the "preppy"/"popular" look isn't any more comfortable or sensible than "goth."
