A Sasquatch family is residing in the woods behind their
property and the sounds and cries of the beasts are too
eerie for the family to bear. The family begins to realize that
the beasts are watching them at night and they seem to be
getter bolder and moving ever closer to the house, even by day.
The family fears that eventually, an attack will happen to one or all family members or their land will become a frightening hunting ground for the townsfolk if they don't move.
OR
The house was built on a sacred Indian burial ground and
a well known curse threathens the lives of all who dare to
reside there. Maybe something very evil could begin to make
its presence known. The curse could cause a string of strange and bizarre events which provokes insanity to set in and the family could become paranoid of one another because the evil
divides them and causes them to begin turning on one another. The family must eventually fight the evil together if they intend to survive or get out before the evil completely consumes them.

What you ya think? Are these workable?

We have moved dozens of times throughout my life, most of the moves have been due to my father's work situation, also sometimes the house we were renting got sold or the people we were renting form wanted to move into the house themselves. I imagine that working for the military would also necessitate a lot of moving and some people just move because they want to. Where I come from a lot of people have also chosen to move due to high crime levels, changes in the political structure of the country, and unemployment.

Inheritance, and they're required to live in the house in order to claim it.

Treasure hunt? Parent(s) are archaeologists and they have to head to some foreign country to search after stumbling over some clues.

Environment - they want to live in an ecologically friendly house (perhaps a cave?)

Parent(s) are architects and have to be on-site for a job - business could be an amusement park or museum; or a tycoon's mansion.

Sounds like fun! I might want to join them.

Could be one of the members is in some kind of trouble they don't want the town to know about.

The dad got a mysterious new job that the family doesn't know about.

Strange things are happening in the house or town they live in.

The way to make it make sense would be maybe a great trauma like a death in the family, natural disaster, loss of job, or maybe not a trauma but something good like a marriage, job promotion etc........

You can't use anything from a book somebody read, it would be plagiarism. You need to find your own ideas and plots, then you will be proud of your work. Good Luck.
