Why do some people feel shy in some instances such as meeting new fellows?

I've to many places in the country and was able to meet fellows from different provinces, I easily get to know them if they are a kind of approachable but when I am in a crowd I feel like I have no strength to talk to anyone, it's seems like I feel shy despite of the fact that I had already met friends from any place.

It's called ego, and you don't want it bashed.
