It will come out in June 2007 but they have to get FCC approval first before it goes to public. Cingular is the only carrier for iPhone and it is Quadband GSM so it may work with other GSM carriers such as T-mobile.

It comes out in June in the United States, fourth quarter 2007 in Europe and early 2008 in Asia.
AT&T(Cingular) has an exclusive contract in the United States until 2009.

I heard that Cingular will be the provider and it was expected to be out in a few months. However, Cisco systems is now suing Apple because it owns the trademark iPhone. That may delay when it is available.

June of this year.
As of right now, Cingular will be the only service carrier. Apple hasn't released any information on whether or not they will allow other carriers.
