the prblem ocurred prior to replacement of the booster, which was leaking ,hard pedal,dying,etc.

i have looked for leaks with carb cleaner and none were found , also it does not do it all the time.

search that problem on google. hundreds of people have the same problem. i dont think they ever figured it out, but it was common on the 80s toyotas with the 22r and 22re motors.

here is a link with good info, and if you cant find the answer by searching here, ask these guys, they are on the ball about older toyotas.

i own repair shop,and you need to check the booster you put on it,,it may be leaking on it,and also check the valve that goes in between the booster ,its called the check valve,,id try this also,,take the booster loose,,and try seeing if it does it with the booster disconnected ,,if it does it may have a leak on something else besides the booster,,like a manifold leak,,good luck with it ,i hope this help,s.

You have another vacuum leak somewhere. (not the booster)
listen for a sucking or whistling noise at idle.

remove the throttle body and remove all the carbon deposit from inside. install a new improve idle speed control valve

I concur with one answerer, check all your vacuum lines. Old rubber does not hold vacuum to well

change the booster again. bad out of the box.also the hose.
do not buy auto zone .buy pep boys.( in this specific case)

how do I know is auto-zone?
