Know this, every group of people hang out with those whom they have the most in common with. In this society Blacks are often viewed as deviants, even though the majority of crimes in this country are committed by White Americans of European descent. We are a minority, so if you want to get up in this society, you have to align yourself with those whom will the most power. This is what Asians tell their children. If the majority whom wills the power shows you a negative image of people then the immigrant groups are going to believe it. This our weakness when it comes to living in America, we are not in control of our on image.

Seems as though you might have wanted an asian guy to talk to you at one point or another. Why not approach him and take initiative. Maybe he'll surprise you and you'll find it's all in your head.
I'm Filipino, and I don't think I'm ghetto. I've been with a black girl before, and others that I was interested in. My best friend is expecting his first child with his girlfriend, and she's black. They're very happy together. Then I have asian friends who I've seen date only asian girls. It's all on the individual, I think.

I grew up as an Army Brat, and in the military culture, all races mix without many problems. Many of my best friends were from Korea. I briefly dated a mixed asian/white guy in high school. I have seen some asian guys date women from many races, including black.
However coming off the military base was like going to another planet. The races were divided as usual.

Like most races, Asians do tend to socialize within our own community. But as a previous answer noted, it is because it is comforting to be surrounded by familiar culture, language, and behaviors.
Luckily, there are always individuals who value the diversity over comfort, and expose themselves to as many cultures as possible (as an example, I don't hang out with other Asians exclusively, and many of my closest friends are black).
For the most part, it is not racism as much as a general discomfort of the unknown that drives Asians (especially immigrant Asians) to avoid the other race... of course, if you look hard enough you can find individuals within any race who don't like individuals of another race. Whether it's inexperience or ignorance, the best cure is patience, understanding and open-mindedness.
It is important to understand that culturally, Asians (especially the ones who have recently immigrated) tend to:
1) not make direct eye contact (it's a sign of respect)
2) make friends slowly
3) be quiet and not very outgoing
This is a broad generalization, and there are obvious exceptions (ie American born Asians tend to behave as if they are Americans, and gaggles of Asian women could get loud).
If you want to become friends with or simply elicit friendly response from immigrant Asians, keep your distance and smile, speak quietly and do not to force direct eye contact. This is probably not very natural, but try to imagine how difficult it would be if you had to suddenly immigrate to China.... I bet you would try to hang out with other Americans as much as possible too. :-)

I'm asian, but I don't find any offense to this so it's ok, but yeah, we do. My boyfriend before dating me, he said he liked a few black girls and a few mexicans, and he is no where near ghetto!(despite the nieghborhood he lives in) And I did like a couple of my friends that were black, so yeah pretty much we like anybody, but some of us sometimes keep to ourselves until we know the people around us better.

Asians do like black girls. I was approached by an asian guy while cashiering at one of my old jobs. Was kind of weird b/c he was the first asian guy I have ever dated, but he was a very sweet guy. Once you get to dating other cultures, you realize that the culture has nothing to do with the man. Its their own individual personality that makes them.

I believe most are shy. Or well intimidated , black women are very strong we don't come off the shy type, well most(not to offend) but most Asian girls are shy. I didn't say all but there " we are independent women, shoes on my feet i bought " kind of women but there are Asian girls like that, it's just we take on stronger approaches and it's OK I mean well who pays the bills you. I believe they do like us. Scared!
