well, first of all, monday i will be 6 months pregnant. and i was wondering if there is any activities that i should avoid? also... as strange as this sounds, i just found out that i was preg. 3 days ago. I had endometriosis, and the drs thought i would never be able to have a kid. well, i never had any symptoms of being pregnant, or not having a period was perfectly normal for me, so another question is, when should i start getting my house ready for the baby and when should i let my family have the baby shower for me? also... how often do you usually feel your baby move? i only really feel her moving a couple times a day... when will i really feel her kicking and stuff?

Congrats! Avoid heavy lifting and exhausting physical activity, and do whatever your doctor says :) As long as the baby is moving around a little each day, it's ok. The baby prefers to move while you're sleeping, or you might notice it more in the morning, laying in bed. Daily activities and moving around create soothing movement that keep baby asleep, so they prefer to kick when you're sitting or resting. A month before your due date is a great time for the baby shower. Let someone else do all that though, and don't stress!

No heavy lifting, a lot of docs say dont bend over too much or put your heands above your head a lot if you have complications (which it sounds like you have in the past, and more some may occur). Also, not hot baths, showers or hottubs. (nothing hotter than your body temp is what my doc told me)
Pretty much you can do what you want just dont over do it.
I would wait until you find out what you are having (if youre going to) to do the house. There isnt too much you have to do besides get clothes and bed things like that until the baby is crawling so you have awhile for that.
The movement thing is really hard to tell, it depends on your body and the baby. I have felt 2 of mine very early the other not much until I was about 6 and a half months along. Try eating if you dont feel her move i would talk to the doc about it. Also, you can try laying on your left side i have heard of that waking up the baby and making them move. Good luck and congrats!

Congrats! just make sure your not doing any heavy lifting and basically take good care of yourself, especially since you already have health problems. And I'll tell ya, you will never be totally ready, I had mine a month early and I had just had my shower, and nothing was done to his room! So I suggest start doing little things, and go get your baby shower registry together it's never too soon for that. and let your family take care of the shower, you don't need all that stress, it can get kinda hectic when it comes down to it. I started to feel my baby move at 16 weeks( 4 mo) and i loved it. He wasn't moving a whole lot, but when he did I let the whole world know lol. Pretty soon your doc should givve you a kick chart, and they will be keeping track of it's movements to let you know how everything is going there. Just wait, pretty soon it'll be kicking like crazy and at the strangest times. Good luck!

First, Congratulations.

Second, I do understand about not knowing/having a regular period, I don't either so if I were pregnant it might take me awhile to figure it out without morning sickness.

Third, Start NOW.... you are about 4 months behind already.

Fourth, Most start feeling movement about 20 weeks or so. If you are concerned you can keep an hourly count and report it to the doctor. They will tell you if it is normal or not. The bigger the baby grows the more you will feel it because she will be more confined.

Did the Dr tell you to avoid anything? Usually just don't over do anything you usually do.
GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!

First off Congrats. Second be very careful as much bed rest as possible, don't over do it. See your Dr regularly. Go on vitamins. Your family is very important get them involved asap. Everyday the baby will move more and more, this is normal. Right now the baby is doing a lot of sleeping. Watch what you eat. If you smoke quit, if you drink stop. This is a touchy time for mom and baby. Keep safe and GOOD LUCK.

To be on the safe side, I would be ready for the baby now; Meaning have your bag packed and ready to go, and a crib/cradle set up. You never know if you will have the baby tomorrow or closer to your due date.

As far as the kicking of the baby goes, each baby is different. Some are more active than others. As long as you can feel it move on a daily basis, there is nothing to worry about. Having had a couple of kids myself, they were each different in the way they moved and their activity inside of me.

How wonderful...... Anyway, Don't do any heavy lifting or a lot of other strenuous activities. If you haven't' been doing an activity for the past 6 months then don't start doing it now.

As far as getting ready for the baby, you can start now. Let your family throw you a baby shower now and whatever wasn't gotten at the shower, then you can get it afterwords. Start having fun and enjoy being pregnant, you got gypped out of 6 months of T.L.C.

First- congrats on the baby, I wish you happiness and health!

I didnt find out I was pregnant with my first until I was a few days shy of 6 months, :)

You will feel the baby move more regularly within the 7 month on and a lot of movement within the 8th, the 9th month is iffy because the baby grows more and becomes unable to move as much but trust me the kicks and movements will get stronger.

Baby hiccups are the cutest thing in the world, have you felt them yet? a continious jumping of your belly? feels like butterflies well actually its kinda hard to explain what it feels like but its so cute.

You can get your home ready whenever you like, that is solely up to you, before you labor you will go into this phase called nesting where you will clean and organize millions of times over and over.

Its easier to get it all done sooner because after the baby comes you wont be able to get much done ;)

Baby showers are usually thrown (from my experiences) within the 7 & 8th months.
You might want to do a little reading on things you need and dont need.. I fell into the I need everything for baby and ended up only using half of what I got.
Diapers are always good in sizes 1 & 2
a pack & play is great because it has the bassinette and play pen instead of buying 2 seperate things
those little bouncer seats are not good in my opinion because babies out grow them to fast swings are a mothers best friend IMO
crib is good for after 4 months (when I started using one)

Okay Im rambling I love baby stuff LOL Im sorry
Good luck with your pregnancy!

edited to add:

If you want to feel your baby move more, drink a glass of orange juice and lay on your left side I bet he/she will start moving very well for you!

You also dont have to avoid that much, just try to be as stressfree as possible, no really heavy strains like lifting but otherwise stay active and do what you normally do.

Enjoy

You should start getting your house ready as soon as possible, because trust me, when you get further along you are not going to feel like doing much. You should avoid heavy lifting, get as much sleep & rest as you can. Eat well, exercise according to your doctors advice. Avoid ALL alcohol, and take it easy on the caffeine. Sit down once a day and record your baby's movements. You should be able to count 10 movements in a 2 hour period. If you don't, go to the hospital for a non-stress test.

First off: as far as kicks you should feel 10 per hour but it isn't narrowed to just kicks any baby movement will be fine. One book I highly recommend is What to expect while your expecting and its companion what to expect while your expecting pregnancy organizer. Then there's also the book of the same title for the first year, the toddler years and the babysitters handbook. Whew, but all that and a website too. I hope this helps and Yes by all means allow baby shower(s) and nest when ya feel the urge too.(Nesting is our way of preparing for the new little one)
