Nope.
Each outlet of the news is trying to sell their 30 second sound bites for their audience.
Some lean left some lean right as far as truly objective there are none. Those who say they are are trying to sell you something.
I got a great book to help you sort that out.
DON'T BELIEVE IT!
How lies become news. by Alexandra Kitty
It has some straight question you can use when reviewing a story on the news. You can see the bias come out.

a very general question. however it is a good one. you have to specify which "media", what forum/s -- media is huge -- specially in the USA and most countries nowadays. my gut feeling and the short quick answer is "no, the media is not objective". Now, let state why I believe so-- there is in the media a marketing technique -- it is not what news you carry but rather what news "sell" -- if we print and re-print after 10 yrs of Diana's death --articles that still attract the grand public -- that tells you where the media leans and where the consumption is and where the advertising dollar will go. Enough said and the subject is not exhausted. I think there is vast room for media improvement in order to get the world on the right track/s. Hope it helps.

The media gets paid the same way every other T.V. network does. The media reports on things that people like to see the most the same way that any other network shows what they think people like to watch because the higher the ratings they have the more they can charge corporations to advertise there products on there channel. What the populace likes to hear controls what the media displays.

Of course not. They're out to make a buck by whatever means possible, and that means leaving objectivity out except when absolutely necessary. If people want "the media" to be objective, they must demand it from them.

If you take away the few bright minds on the radio (limbaugh, hannity, levin) and fox news there would be nothing except radical left-wing nuts who make their living by blaming President Bush for everything.

God no! They're always looking for the next scandal. They can take a picture of something completely innocent and turn it into something scandal-is, or insinuate something of the kind.
