You may try Saravana Bhavan or else Saravana Bhavan Airconditioned one is also there, but a bit cosy atmosphere and costly as well. Chennai is no famine for good vegetarian restaurant. Come on its the head quarters for South Indian Railways, so obviously even in the Chennai Central Railway Station platform or in the railway station itself there is a Saravana Bhavan Restaurant ... so you cant be out of the reach of good South Indian cuisine. But please dont drink the metro water, that one you use for bathing and washing clothes, and for drinking and cooking purposes, better use mineral water, kinley from coca cola is available there, get a 25 litre can and once finish, call them for top up or another one, quite reasonable price. Suits if ya a resident there, or else if tourist, strongly recommend drinking mineral water kinley brand. Wear helmets if ya on a bike. Have a safe trip in Chennai.

Theres' Sukh Sagar.. opp Ayyappan temple as well... i believe u also get south indian food there!
