I have a cough and my throat is dry. I'm also 4 weeks pregnant, can I have a cough drop? If not, any ideas beside drinking all day?

My Doctor told me I wasn't allowed to take any cough drops during pregnancy. If you go to the chemist they can give you some cough medicine which has the main ingredient of Phlactin which is okay whilst pregnant. The pharmacist will help you. If you start getting a blocked nose you can get stuff called Fess, it's a spray which helps relieve the congestion and you can use it as much as you like. Hope you feel better soon.

Yes you can take any cough drop, it's on my allowed list given to me by my OB. Halls is only one example.

I asked my Doctor the same question, and she said that Halls were the best ones to take. I dont know why Halls, but thats what she said.

yes you can have them..and try some hot tea with honey..it should help i just got over being sick with a sore throat and had to be put on anitbiotics ...good luck

you kno what... everyone is saying the SAME thing just to get points, but i say go ahead and take 'em just dont take illegal drugs or harmfull chemicals or weird liquid meds.
