They are not trying to look like white blondes, they are white Hispanics, some of whom are actually blonde. Why would anyone think that Christina isn't white? Being Hispanic in no way precludes a person from being Caucasian, as it is not a racial category but rather an ethnic designation. There is a difference. Some Latin American groups are mostly white, such as Cuban-Americans (86%) & Argentinians (97%).

Now you have discovered Mexico's ugly secret. There's a lot of racism in Mexico. Yep, that's right there's bigtime racism in Mexico. Against the Native Americans that is. Mexican television is controlled by the Spanish who are very racist against Native American Mexicans. That's why you don't see anybody on TV. Astonishingly even the Spanish aren't satisfied with their looks, the women always die their hair blond except for Maribel Guardia. Try to make themselves look like blond Swedes which their not. I'am personally disgusted with the telenovelas. It's an insult to Mexico. The TV industry is a complete fake, that's not the real authentic Mexico. Mexico is in such a miserable state because the spanish powerbrokers oppress the impoverished native americans who are forced to flee the state. Great question and good observation.

Many Mexican men are attracted to blonde women. I guess its some sort of novelty since they rarely see blondes. I believe Christina Aguilera actually is a natural blonde ( at least when she was younger) You can tell she is naturally fair skinned, same for Cameron Diaz. Both are half hispanic.

For one thing, Christina Aguilera may be half-latina, but she has naturally more white characteristics. (her hair naturally is a very light brown, she has blue eyes, very light skin) so she's not trying to be a white blonde in the sense that the mexicans you're referring to are. I will ask you this though; why are some white women doing everything within their power to not look, well, white? These caucasian women spend hours in the tanning bed, and if they don't tan, they coat themselves in sunless tanner and look orange. You ask many racist questions about why a particular ethnic group is trying to look white, but you completely ignore the current trend of many white women attempting to tan and obtain the golden skin other ethnicities have naturally. Many celebs are even attempting to dye their hair darker as well. (Just look at Cameron Diaz and Lindsay Lohan) It goes both ways.

Not only can Hispanics be white, but the latino telenovelas are made to fit an audience that is even larger than its own Hispanic community; they get dubbed into different languages and show up around the globe. So, they pick the "white" actors so that they'll fit in in other countries.
