I don't think it's the best idea. It may make you come off poorly to other parents and will make everyone tease her when she gets older. How about Izabel? It's like Jezebel, but no bad associations. Good luck!

By the way, I know a sugar glider named Jezebel.

There are very few names that I would definitely never chose and that is one of them. It is a beautiful name to say but first thing I think of is "hussy". So, how about an equally beautiful name that is similiar...

maybe:
Isabel, Claribel, Anabel, Maribel, Arabel, Jennabel...

Or you could name her: Jasmine Belle and then her nickname at home could be Jezebel...if you still cannot resist the name! :)
You could use the spelling with a z too: Jazmine or even create your own name: Jezmine Belle.

Good Luck! SD

I totally love that name too! I always thought I would name my daughter Jezebel..Jezzy for short, but i have the same concerns you do. To most people, that name represents the most famous whore in history. On the other hand, it's beautiful and unique. If you and your partner can agree, I say go for it!

You mean the big whore from the Bible? Lol, I had a friend Jezebel, she was nice not so mean. I did think about the Bible lady every time I heard her name, you don't people making comments or assumptions about her because of that, try changing the spelling. Jessabel.

As one that is a Christian myself and grew up in a Christian church I do not suggest naming a girl Jezebel. It would leave a bad taste in people's mind like what were those parents thinking?

I had a pet rat named Jezabel before, but then again that was a rat. lol

I love that name as well, it is a very beautiful sounding name, but like said many times above me, I think naming your daughter that would just be asking for trouble. I don't think your daughter would appreciate it very much if she was pick on most of her life due to a name her mother gave her even though she knew what thoughs were associated with it. Sorry hun!

well no offence but i woundnt want that name. i no you really like it but dont think about just you do you think that it will be hard for her to spell that or will the kids at school tease her with such a different name? im not trying to scare you but you have to think will she like having such a different name? nowadays kids are trying hard to fit in not stand out so i guess it will depend on her personality if she likes it, but for rite now you can sort of guess if she'll be a follower (which isnt bad most ppl i no arent leaders) or an leader de pending on what u are or were an think if you think she could handle that name.
Good luck

Absolutely. She may grow up to be a Church goer and religious, you never know, and I'm sure she would not appreciate the name of Jezebel. Sorry!

I love the name too, but yes I think that's why people only name their cats this, way too much stigma attatched to it.
Kids can be so cruel, and their parents judge who gets to hang around with their kids, so although I love unique beautiful names, I'm always going to say error on the side of caution for the childs sake.
