You are in need of a brake job. The brake pads are to a point where there are no brake material left on the pad. Stop driving the car until you get these repairs, it could cause the car to not stop, or even lock up.. Be careful... When taking it into the shop, get estimate first. tell them that before any additional work is done. they should get your approval... even the best shop may try to put on parts that are not needed.

drive at whatever speed it is noisiest on a straight road and swerve left and right(make sure traffic is clear!)if the noise is louder when the car leans one direction or the other, you probably have a bad wheel bearing, if not , it could be some obvious debris scraping the ground under your car. also could be your brakes are horribly into the metal which is SERIOUSLY dangerous. most shops will provide a brake inspection at no charge. take advantage of this free service, it just might save your life or the lives of the family you wont crash into because you took the time to have it checked.

It's the brakes. Even when you are not applying them they may still be rubbing.
