....your hearing or your eyesight?

2007-01-12 12:15:41 · 40 answers · asked by Anonymous in Entertainment & Music Polls & Surveys

Sorry ahwell - not meaing to cause offence. It was a genuine question.

I thought about it as I could decide what would be harder - not being able to hear my husband tell me he loves me or not being able to see his face when he said it.

Wasn't meant to be a bad taste question!

I would choose to lose hearing, as losing eyesight is a far greater handicap today.

If I lose my eyesight, getting from place to place becomes difficult. I would likely sell my computer, because games would be useless, and voice programs are no substitute for being able to read material.

If I lose my hearing, yes, I lose some immediate ability to communicate, and I lose music. However, I can still learn other means of communication, such as sign language, and I can still talk, although my volume control won't be what it used to be. I can still read and write if I'm deaf, and can function online normally. I can hold down a number of good paying jobs while deaf, that I couldn't do if I was blind.

My eyesight. I mean, this world is not particularly pretty, is it? And the only things that ARE pretty mostly aren't seen much. If i lost my hearing i'd lose music and i couldn't bear that... and the loss of eyesight sharpens the other senses, and i think i'd like that...

hearing because with eyesight, i can see what every body is doing, and if they want to tell me something, they can write a letter or use sign language. but without eyesight and just hearing, i can't live.

Hearing, because if you couldn't hear you'd still be able to read people's lips and know what they're saying. And if you were blind the most entertanment you could have would be listening to music or stuff like that. ( that means no t.v, no movies, no internet, no chat...)
