my moms a huge bollywood fan, both my parents are indian. but my dad always talks about how bollywood works clearly with the mob and all teh stars at one point in their careers slept with the directors to get there start, including aishwarya rai, preity zinta etc, and that the nwhole indian attitude of conservatism on screen is a sham because of what goes on off screen

This is not only in the Indian Film Industry. This casting couch exists in almost all the film and entertainment industries worldwide where people depend upon other high profile people for roles. If they want it, they gotta give something.
