Honestly.. I used to be into Rap, but now it just plain sucks...
It's literally all the same thing.. even the old rappers are coming out with horrible music.
Just a bunch of Southern African Americans talking (not singing) about cars, guns, drugs, clubs, clothes , and hoes and all that stuff...
I seriously am so sick of it all...
Rap music gives Black people a bad name. Most black people will disagree with me, but people like that have to think outside of the box for a second...
Seriously I hate sterotypes, and I know that everyone has sterotypes for a certain group, but black people seem to have the worst, and frankly... they're proud of it...
Why can't you see Black Rock musicians or something?
Black people have no positive role models... Honestly think about it.. just basketball players and rappers. It seems the black community is slowly getting worse... something BIG needs to be done to change this..
All I can hope for is that i'll be alive to witness the day the whole black community, get's out of this mentality of being proud of stuggling, and I can walk down the street, without being sterotyped against.

I completely agree with you!
I can remember back in the day when rap first was starting to get big, and it was good! and you could even understand what they were rapping about....
Now days its all about booty, $$$ grills (ugly crap on their teeth) pants down to their ankles ( its makes their legs look 2 inches short- and is soooo UGLY!)
AND besides knowing the ugly words-Bit**- hoho, and booty, you cant understand anything else they say.
it is pathetic!
the youth of today has gone----- just gone are the good time days!

East coast rap is missing from the equation.
Thought provoking artists such as Nas, Rakim, Common and those who are similar seemed to have been pushed out of the way for more gimmicky, less creative rappers. Unfortunately, the switch to almost all dirty south MCs on the scene have changed the landscape of hip hop. Rap music has always thrived when there was variety.

Totally agree with you man. I'm black myself, and personally cannot stand the rap nowadays. Now, I'm not generalizing that rap is all black and it directly affects black people, it's just that it is a predominately educed black genre of music. I also hate stereotypes, someday I wish they would just fade away so we could all get along with one another. Rap has gotten so bad that I've turned to other genres of music such as Alternative Rock (Which is -really- nice by the way). The record labels are just pumping money into most of these rappers and then coach them on what and how to say it. The rap today is all about AD-LIBS, which I hate. Every other song you hear, "Ballin'" - "Chee-yeah", -"I cap this, cap that", which is repetitive and stupid, has no meaning at all. No, I'm not trying to sound ignorant at all in this post, just expressing my feelings also on this matter.

Have you notice there are White Rappers or wannabe Rappers! I just going to name a few.
Abilities
Ad-Rock
AesopRock
Alchemist
Alias
Awol One
Brian Austin Green
Brother Ali
Beastie Boys
Dj Skribble
Eminem
Marky Mark
Milk Bone
Remedy
Snow
Sole
Vanilla Ice
White Dawg
Why ignorant people always mention race in a negative way or stereotype, and claim they are not racists. If you like rock, listen to it. Should I say all White Rockers & Heavy Metalers are Drug Addicts, Violent & Drunks? I know they love to trash Hotel Rooms

I too really don't like rap. Like the rhythms, but am really, really starting to hate the music
1. timberland, one of the greatest beat makers in rap, left the genre because new rap allowed no creative outlets, was stereotypical, and oppressive
2. when blacks move onto other genres, like country and rock (see cowboy troy) they are considered "not black" trying to "act white" which is extra ridiculous as blacks have been in country and rock for years
3. it'll change soon. i hope. people are trying new things, getting thier names heard, the backlash from rap is getting more and more prominent, etc.
