She's not anorexic...she's normal sized...

wait...so an STD can cause delay?? that's so weird...

She's also not experiencing any symptoms. It's as if it never happened. Though it did. xD

it's just that we started learning this stuff [[more maturely in HS]] and i was wondering if an STD could be one of the causes of this. =)

if she just started it is normal and if she is stressed in the first year or so that u first get ur period it is quite normal to be very unregular so don't worry but I would inform her doctor just in case. Hope that helps.

Is she an athlete or involved in a strenuous sport? I was a swimmer in high school and we worked out and dieted a lot and I would go for months without a period, I had very little body fat and I just wouldn't get one...wish I very little body fat now but that is another story...

It could just be stress. Another reason could be an ovarian cyst. And are you *sure* she's not pregnant? Have you actually inspected her hymen to see if it was broken? (Er, this helps only if you know what an intact and a broken hymen looks like, BTW, so that may not help much. My bad. ^^;;)

I'd take her to a gyno just to make sure it's not an ovarian cyst. Those aren't good. X_x

I think that she needs to go to the doctor. There could be any number of things wrong. It is not real normal for girls to have this bad a problem with their periods.

when a girl gets her period the first year she can be irregular and can go a few months in between it is natural just her body trying to get into the habit

When you first start it, your body is very irregular. It's not unusual to skip a few months at a time.

When you first get your period, it can be very erratic. My oldest daughter had one, skipped a few months, had another, skipped a month, and after 2 years actually got regular.
