When European traders sailed the world they traded gold, silver, spices and linen. When they got to Africa, they traded for slaves. That may be hard for some to swallow but its the documented truth. Traders manifests state this and the slave's accounts state this. Deal with it.
I dont understand how blacks can lump all the responsibility on whites for slavery when it was their own people who sold their a**s for salt???? I know its shameful but seriously, how did a dozen sailers travel to a foreign land and capture 200-300 slaves at a time from their native lands in a time that predates modern firearms??? I dont know if it makes them feel better about their ancestry to think a dozen Italians or Spaniards sailed 3,000 miles to a land they never set foot on and forceably captured hundreds of Africans. Neither reality is flattering so why not stick to the truth?

Very true and a lot of "slaves" were really just indentured servants who traveled to the Americas for free, but in return they had to work off the expenses for several years.

This is a good example of people believing everything that they read. The Europeans could not communicate with the tribes in Africa. They communicated with people of their color for the right to capture the slaves (traded gold, silver, spices, salt and linen).

This must be a sore point with you-technically you are correct by why does it matter? Force is forcxe. All peoples were dragged into slavery at one point of history or another-people do horrible things. America kept up with the practice of slavery long after most countries-therefore creating a market-thats embarrassing considering what we as a country are supposed to stand for. More than that, our mistreatment of blacks and other ethnic groups at different periods-say chinese etc. was disgusting after slavery was stopped. People are mean and vicious, the physical world can suck. In western society its hard to understand and at this point the whining should be about the gross current events happening- thing were horrible but what are we doing now? For anyone?

Nobody listen to this fool.
First you didn't present supporting evidence.
Second it's more so your opinion than a fact.
Third, you're denying that there were any African peoples forced into slavery.
Fourth, if the past Africans peoples aren't as intelligent as you claim (Academic scholars insist with many books), the ancient African peoples wouldn't be able to have a concept of exchange value. Thus, they wouldn't be capable of trade or interaction with outsiders on boats as your academic scholars claim blacks to be on a low IQ level.

If this were true, rememeber that the Africans never traveled accross the waters for the purpose of selling their own people. If white people in America didn't feel the need for slaves in America that trade would've never taken place to begin with.

Many whites believe that too. I'm guessing it's what many are taught in schools.
But brought forcibly or not. That doesn't justify what was done to the slaves.

Regardless of who actually sold or bought the slaves, the slaves had no say in the deal so, whether you want to believe it or not that means they were forcibly brought here.

Your argument sounds valid, it changed my view on it.
To answer your question, why do they still believe it?
I do.../did It's cause in the history books it still says "blacks were forcibly taken" and just about ever year in grade school through high school we learn about disservices done to blacks, and other minorities.
