No it will be a little louder, but putting just the muffler won,t change performance. A flow master muffler flows more exhaust from the engine. Which id good if you get more air into the engine. if you install the flow through and a K&N air filter, you may experience a slight increase in power. Hope this helps you !

It will not sound the same, depending on which type of flowmaster you put on. Pretty much all of them will make a more aggressive sound and will be louder than the factory muffler.

I sure hope your '05 Chevy has a V-8 in it. Anything else will sound like a woosy wannabe car. No way in hell a V-6 or 4 holer will sound good with any type of muffler.....

Depending on the Flowmaster it will sound loud to alot louder on your vehicle. I have been using Flowmasters for many years now. I have a 40 series on my Durango and it is the loudest you can get..... they have other models too, 40delta flow, 50 series, 60....ect......

Go here and listen to the sound samples.

No! It will have a much more throaty sound, a good rumble, great sound, especially if you put duals on it! They have much less restriction and also give you more horse power and fuel economy. Go for it! It is a V8 huh? Don't do it with a six banger, sounds sick!
