I found out tues that i am 2 cm dilated and 80% effaced, how long do you think it will take to go into labor?

How far dilated and effaced you are really means NOTHING until you are in active labor. This is why many midwives don't do cervical checks until mom is in labor.

You can walk around for a week or more 100% effaced and 3-4 cm dilated before anything happens. (I did with my first.) Or you can be closed up as tight as a bank vault and have a baby a few hours later. Cervical checks are just another way caregivers try to "manage" pregnancy and birth. They really provide no useful information at this stage.

Just relax and trust your baby and your body to know when it is time. Don't obsess on the numbers.

That was me for 10 days. Look at it like this though, the hard part is almost over. Most women efface once they start to dialate. For example the average woman will be 80% effaced at 5 - 8 centimeters. You are 80% at 2 centimeters, it is IMO that you will labor quickly, not easily but quickly as your cervix only needs to dialate now. I was in labor for 3 hours and most woman I have labor coached that were this way before they labored go relatively quickly as well. Good Luck!

The main thing when in labor is the effacement. That is the thickness of your cervix. (opening of uterus where the baby is) Your cervix has to thin before you really start dilating. So when you go into labor you won't take long since the cervix is almost completely thinned out. Your water will probably break and then you'll start dilating. You should within week. Good Luck

with my first being pregnant i replaced into 3 cm at 8 months so the dialtion dont advise something in all honestly you should be dialated for weeks and not bypass into exertions. i walked had intercourse and at 39 weeks and four days and 14 hours of exertions i had my first born. my 2d born i had to be precipitated at 40 weeks and that i attempted each and every thing i replaced into even 2cm dialated in view that i hit 37 weeks yet he didnt come out and that i attempted each and every thing on my own. so no possible say its whilst babys waiting. it ought to take days or even weeks or hours. you ought to easily keep attempting abode cures thats relatively it whilst its time youll understand

nobody knows but God Himself. women can dialate a month or 2 before delivery. there is no way to know when you will go into labor!!
