Dude, you're JW -- you get ridiculed for *everything.* You should be used to it by now.
See, here's what I don't get about your religion in particular (above all the other silly superstitions that people make religions out of):
Your founder claimed the world was going to end in 1918, and that AT THAT TIME 144,000 people ONLY would be saved. We're coming up on 100 years since the deadline passed, and we're still here...what gives? And since there are more than 144,000 JWs, who decides who's gonna make the cut? Do you guys have, like, a WWE smackdown-kinda thing and the winners go?
:)

People are afraid of what they don't understand, so they ridicule it to make themselves feel better. Besides, this society is so used to the commercialism attached to all the 'holidays' now, they just can't understand someone not wanting to take part in all the money-spending and gluttony that goes on.
You stay strong, and stick to your convictions.

Because there's no reward for following a false god. Might as well have fun on the holidays.

I could not possibly care less what you do and don't celebrate. Just so long as you don't care what I do with my life.

I do not mean this as an insult but check your handle! Jews get it too, for not celebrating Christmas.
