yes i agree that depression is contagious and that sob stories are not what i am on here for. however, maybe these folk have no one else to vent on. now that's a depressing thought.

I don't think a sad answer belongs on a happy question, but then I don't think a happy answer belongs on a sad question either. It's all about being sensitive...and sometimes people are just so sad it spills over, even if they aren't trying to depress somebody else. Something bad happened, and they hurt. I'm getting a lot better, but I used to be whatever the female equivalent is of a Gloomy Gus.

Yes and no.. depends on how the question is worded and approached. I do agree with you but have a hard time deciding what to write because I get shot down for MY experiences, which is why I haven't been on here for 4 days and came back now to try and get away from stress, so we have to have the need to have it HERE is silly, and that's just MY opinion.

Would you prefer them to lie, or just not answer? Life isn't always fun or fair, and everyone dies sooner or later. When you ask a question, you can expect a variety of answers due to different peoples life experiences.

Sometimes people just need to talk - and sometimes your job is to listen and be empathetic. It won't kill you. I wished that life could be happy all the time, but sometimes others hurt too much.

I hate racist answers and questions. I used to hang out over in the society and cultures section.......and I had enough of all the nonsense...
I will take sad answers over racism and plain ignorence anyday.
