Being negative is wrong, yet isn't accepting what happend related to it? For example, if a close friend/relative got into a serious car crash and doctors doubt that they will live, you could think that they will live through it or they won't. But if you think they won't, it's being negative, but at the same time accepting something. If you think they will live, then you would be thinking positive, but maybe at the same time being in denial. That might not be the best example, but still.

Perhaps not the best example, but I think I know exactly what you mean This is a brilliant question, and I firmly believe that they are indeed the same thing.

Being positive about something takes just as much determination to deny it outright. They way I see it, being positive about the existence of God takes just as much willpower as denying the possibility that any sort of God exists. In fact, the person denying the existence of said God would be *positive* that God does not exist, and the person who believed in such a God would be in denial that God did *not* exist.

Two sides of the same coin, as they say. But yes, I think they're very much the same thing. Bravo!

Yes, sometimes being positive can be being in denial. It doesn't have to be that way, but many times it is. When something is too much for somebody to deal with, often times they go into denial. In a sense, they are just being positive. And if that helps them sleep better at night.
I think I deal in reality be that positive or negative. I tend to see things for what I percieve to be the facts. In turn, I can choose to have either a negative or positive attitude about it.
But it takes all kinds.

No they are not. Being positive is exploring all the possible outcome of an event, and work hard and hope for the best outcome. Being negative is automatically assuming the worst of everything and give up any hope.

In your example, if you automatically give up the hope of getting well, that is negative. However, if you assess the possibility, explore the alternatives and work hard to try to get well eve if the chance is small, that is call positive.

what type of denial....what's denial. some use the be conscious as if it meant self deprivation as in denying self the excitement of sex, some use the be conscious as if it contradicts yet another assertion and some use the be conscious as if it meant neurotic lack of recognize-how adverse to caution supported by technique of genuine perception in a pretend assertion. Is being efficient a denial? No. Does a being efficient deny? sure, sensible efficient being denies realistically with understanding and objective.

No. Accepting it is the positive way. And dealing with it. Denial is refusing to accept the situation.

Right now, your like a kinda human schrodingers cat- You have to exist as both, until the situation resolves itself.

Actually it's not when done correctly. Being positive in spite of negative things you have to face is the correct way to think and follow up with actions.
